The Curtis Palmer Program bringing hope and new beginnings to those within the Emergency Services.

The CPP follow the NHS steps to better mental health wellbeing:

1. Connect with others

2. Be physically active

3. learn new skills

4. Give to others

5. Pay attention to the present (mindfulness)

The Curtis Palmer Program was set up in 2019 and their mission statement has always been to help get staff back to work in a better place. They help emergency service workers with their mental health and physical well-being. They follow the NHS 5 steps to better mental health by providing free education, mentoring, outward bounds courses and expeditions. They have helped over 200 police officers ( including myself) from 16 different forces. Their injuries are wide ranging physical and mental health injuries.

Curtis Palmer Program

Hello, I am Emily Roberts (married name Elphick)  and I am leaving my 30 year career in the police in August 2022. I am keen to do something special to mark this occasion. The best way I can do this to raise awareness and prevention to PTSD is to walk 800k on the Camino de Santiago, I will document my journey as I transition from being a police officer to a member of public. Hopefully this will be interesting, raise awareness of the impact of the job on my colleagues, raise some funds to allow the amazing Curtis Palmer Program to help others when they need it x
