Day 5 Puente La Reina to Estella 23km
Up and walk, eat on the move, drink lots, head under taps and sweat. Finish, shower, find local bar and restaurant. Feelings of satisfaction from the walk and joy of finding new bars, food, people and repeat.
Greg's update.
Em is a machine. Despite that nasty fall she's now pretty much pain free, not limping and today set a fast pace of nearly 5km/hr average. Temp well into 30's. Hardly anyone has overtaken us and we're monstering the hills. The training has paid off. As has planning, apart from yesterday's albergue I booked which was rather like a modern cattle shed, outside the town and at the top of a long, steep drive. We were two of only 5 pilgrims staying there. Tonight's room is central, private and a lot bigger than the albergue's 6'x6' cell. Got an even better surprise for Em tomorrow but we will both deserve it after a longer 30km planned yomp.
